Lots of adventures, tons of paintings, art shows, gallery showings, and Murdock jackets flying out the door. I have been one busy artist! Now that my artwork has traveled all over the world, I feel that I am finally reaching one of the many goals that I had given myself as a young child. It has taken a lot of patience and hard work, but it is finally paying off.
The other unexpected entry in my life is advancing up the ladder to the highest position in my job. Working for the RGRR has been the most rewarding job that I have ever held. Starting from the bottom as a Conductor and working my way all the way up to Operations Superintendent is a big jump and a big responsibility. Which keeps me very busy and doesn't give me much time to add artwork to DA but I have added a few new pieces today :)

I will be slowing down on the painting for a while due to my job...which is a good thing! I start my new position as Train Conductor :excited: so I imagine I will be beat by the end of the work day. I'm sure I will find time to work on a painting every now and then or even post a pic or two of me workin on the railroad :giggle: Keep an eye on my site as I will be giving away more ACEOs and maybe will have time to do some ACEO trades too!

I am so excited to say, that I have sold 100 original ACEO paintings! I'm so excited that I wanted to share an original ACEO piece with one of my watchers. All you have to do is leave a comment on the featured painting and you will be entered into the drawing which will take place on March 1st! Along with the painting I will include a mini easel for the painting to be displayed on.
I hope that I receive many entries to my very first give away, and I hope to have many more in the future! Good Luck to all!!!!
ps- to all my overseas watchers, you can enter too! I will ship this painting and easel anywhere in the world!!! All you have to do is comment on the featured painting-     Peaceful Bay #2

Sometimes when I think I own an art gallery, lol, I start painting big, but then I look around an realize, uh oh, I don't have anywhere to hang or store these paintings, and they really don't sell well, soooooo, I gotta think small. While searching ebay, I stumbled across trading card art called ACEOs and now I'm hooked. These minature paintings are great to hone my skills without using a bunch of paint and large canvas. And the bonus of this artform is, they sell as fast as I can't paint and list them. And in the event that one doesn't sell, I won't have a problem of storage since they are only 2 1/2" x 3 1/2". This is the best thing I have come across and it's getting my art out there finally! All of the ACEOs listed here are now on ebay and up for auction (some have already been sold and have new homes across the US)....now to wait and see where these little paintings will be shipped to!

So, after a brief rest from traditional painting, I decided that I needed to start picking up the paintbrush a little more often. Instead of being random in what I paint I decided that I needed to pick a subject and stick with it for a while. So my subjects will be the masters of shred, past and present. After some encouragement from :iconresistanceispointles: I have set a goal of taking all of my rock n rollers to one of our local galleries to see if I can have a showing in their establishment. So with this goal I need to produce a painting a week until I have enough for a good show before the holidays. I'm off to a pretty good start as I already have one completed and will have the second done by the end of today. I'm up for suggestions as to who I need to include in my Masters of Shred series! Pretty soon I will be able to add my son to this list as he and his band are going to be playing with Blessthefall, I See Stars, and IWRESTLEDABEARONCE, this coming August! Only 17 and on his way to bigger and better things. Do you think they will let moms be a Roadie?

My current list of Masters of Shred;

Randy Rhoads-Completed :giggle:
C.C. Deville- Completed :faint:
Eddie VanHalen-Background in, the Frankinstein Guitar 90% complete, Eddie 50% complete. :O_o:
Angus Young-Pose sellected
Steve Vai
Slash
Joe Perry
Brian May
Carlos Santana
Jeff Beck
Kirk Hammett
Jimmy Page
Stevie Ray Vaughn
Eric Clapton
Jimmy Hendricks
Whhhheeeewww! That puts me in Mid-October if I don't have any interruptions! :faint:
